Committing and Investing in Yourself!

This blog is intended to be an inspirational post, and stems from a few different events or things I have heard or read lately.

Firstly, the other day on my way into Calgary to my clinic, I saw 4 coyotes all together in a field.  They were hunting mice.  Three were sitting and one was standing and they were all focused on the ground below them.  I thought, ‘Wow, I have never seen anything like that!’ (And living in the country, I see coyotes every day.)  I immediately wondered, ‘Was that a sign?’  The only thing that popped into my head was ‘Amazing things are in store for you.’  Hmmm, I liked the sounds of that… but I wasn’t sure whether that ‘message’ was just wishful thinking on my part!  So I looked up ‘symbolism of the coyote’ on the computer when I got back home.  Here’s what I found:

Coyote:  Prankster, insight, playful.  The coyote symbolizes duality and the ability to present both sides of an issue.  Clowning, humour, perhaps sarcastic.   The coyote totem is one of loyalty and community.  Coyote is the symbol of teaching.

Well, if the coyote symbolizes humour and sarcasm… That’s sooo not me! (Wink, wink, ha, ha), and if it symbolizes community… Well, that’s what I hope I am creating with FourLeg, and of course the symbolism of teaching makes good sense for me.  Perhaps that needs to be a greater focus for me!  All very interesting indeed.

Now, add to that… I recently listed to an audio recording on the 5 things that hinder success in women entrepreneurs.  Within the audio, the speakers talked about how 2013 was supposed to be a change in energy and the beginning of great change overall (as compared to 2011 & 2012 that were intended to test and strengthen us).  So I guess that forcast also fits with MY interpretation of the 4 coyotes sighting.

Beyond these things already mentioned, the women entrepreneur audio also talked about ‘making a commitment and investment’ in yourself.  For me, that means watching or listening to my business and marketing audios, CD’s or videos, researching materials to teach the FourLeg Members and for other teaching engagements, going to the gym and trying to get to bed before midnight, and consciously NOT working on anything at all from time to time (and this is hardest for me)!

So it brings me to the Question… What is or will be your commitment or investment in you?  For the FourLeg Members, you’re doing this!  Kudos! …But be sure to consciously implement what you learn, take time to practice, and take time for yourself!  I’d love to hear from you to know more about what YOU are doing to commit to yourself or your epiphanies from your FourLeg Membership experience or your goals for 2013!  Because I think we could all benefit from learning about each other’s stories, strategies, accomplishments and plans.  Please drop me a line at Laurie@FourLeg.com.

Cheers!

Laurie
