BALTO Stifle Brace by Alphamobility solutions

Discussion related to the musculoskeletal system - injuries, post-op, lameness, extremity issues (joint, muscle, tenon, fascia...), axial skeleton issues, etc., as it relates to canine rehabilitation.

BALTO Stifle Brace by Alphamobility solutions

Post by pvsvet »

Is anyone familiar with BALTO braces
I have a client that wants to try their stifle brace-for conservative management of CCL deficicency
in a geriatric lab. Surgery is not an option
This appears similar to the Woundwear stifle brace-Offering some compression and proprioception only.
We are doing other Rehab Therapy but have seen the Woundwear braces be of some benefit

They also have carpal/tarsal support braces and a shoulder stabilization system for MSI

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them

Thanks

Hey Ann-Margret,

Well, you're right... they are really only providing some proprioception. If the dog isn't active, that might be enough.
I have also had some success in the past with the Wound Wear - A-Trac braces. Back in the day before there were orthotist providing better braces, that's all there was. And they helped.

(Caveat... yes, a fitted custom brace is better. But not the question at hand.)

I'd think that in a senior dog - it might be enough.

But specific to the BALTO... I don't have any first hand experience.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with first hand experience.

Best!
