Extensor rigitity

Post by lehughes »

Hi Laurie,
I feel like I'm stalking you. Trust me, I'm not :)
I checked the forum for an answer to this but the sit and stand do not work for this.
6 y.o. Frenchie with extensor rigidity on Rh post-op.
The leg is in such rigid extension I can't do anything to bend it.
Meanwhile the other leg is getting stronger and stronger.
Is there anything I can do?
Electro-acupuncture? What muscles would I target?
I can get zero flexion out of hock and stifle.
Thanks,
R

Hey R,

I’ll post this on the Forum for you as well.
Okay… so you don’t say what the surgery was for. It sounds like a variation of a Quads Contracture.
A little more info would help.
This is one of those cases, that you need to have at least a presumptive diagnosis from which to work.
