Canine Harness Carriers

Post by lehughes »

Hi Laurie -

I am a certified veterinary technician and I have been doing rehabilitation for the last few years.

Recently I adopted a kitten and in my search for a carrying back-pack type of equipment for him I saw so many harness for small dogs which put them in an upright position.
What are your thoughts/experiences with this device ? Have you seen any issues related to it's use ?

Just wondering, if a client may ask. I did not purchase this for my cat.

Thank you.

-N.

Hi N.,

It’s an interesting contraption for sure. I’m not in love with it, but I don’t think it’s harmful.

The dog is still has some spinal flexion, the body is supported in that there is minimal side to side flopping around. So, I don’t think there would be any lasting damages
Hopefully the arm and leg holes are big enough. It’s weird but I don’t know that it’s dangerous.

Thanks for the brain teaser of the day!!!

;)

Cheers,

Laurie
