Harnesses for Amputees

Post by lehughes »

Hi!
Do you have any Recommendations for a harness with a handle for a dog who is missing one of its hind limbs? One of my technicians mentioned that her dog’s remaining hindlimb is giving out and she’s having a hard time getting her up and down. I have not yet seen her but she was just asking me about harness options and I wasn’t sure if a help em up harness would work if there is only one hind limb.
Thanks!!

Hi S,

I’ve been asked this question before, and I’ve seen this question posted before… and nobody has a clear winner.
I am a fan of the Help Em Up for sure. However with a tripod, something that has more neoprene versus straps might be better (and or could be padded to fill in space if needed.)
i.e.

or

That would be my 2 cents!

Best of luck!
