"Other" helpful courses

Post by KimB »

I was wondering if anyone had taken any training or courses that aren't specific rehabilitation courses, that would have been helpful for you in beginning to learn about animal rehab. I had taken a 10 hour pet first aid course that I think was beneficial. Through the Alberta force free alliance I found some information and coursework on low stress animal handling that I though may be useful and I have been considering

Any recommendations?
Thanks

Hey Kim!

I was hopeful that others would reply! Alas, perhaps nobody has strong recommendations on this matter!

When it comes down to it... anything you can learn is likely to be helpful in giving you well rounded knowledge of the canine world.
The course you post could be good.
Any of the agility handler courses might help you to better understand what that group of people are doing.
Right now a lot of folks are following the VOSM Facebook Live Events - good information there (totally relevant to canine rehab practice:

Even check out some YouTube Videos. When it comes to 'other' / 'non-rehab' courses, I like to get a taste of what's out there via YouTube before committing to a paid course.

Sorry to not be more helpful with specifics.

Cheers,
