I just want to pose a question to the group:
Are there any supplements that you USE and SEE BENEFICIAL EFFECTS from in regards to Neurologic Disorders?
Please discuss!
Cheers,
Laurie

I am not aware of any research showing a benefit of supplements for neuro function. Having said that, I routinely recommend omega 3's based on what we know they do. Worst case scenario, I just end up treating the patients' joints, skin, mental and immune health, but not their peripheral nerves. I can live with that.

I worked with a veterinarian that practiced nutritional response testing and regularly recommended Standard Process Neurotrophin with positive results. I have only seen it used in conjunction with a whole body support, but I have seen some progress with her patients. However, her patients usually receive other treatments (laser, nutrition support, VOM)...so I couldn't tell you the effect with out them.
I recently worked with a client whose veterinarian recommends Cholodin supplements for fecal incontinence. The client swears by it. I have not used it, but may start on those patients that are so arthritic in the sacrum that they fight massage and tail traction in the beginning. It could help the frustration on the client end if we could clear up the incontinence while we work on the main issues.

Do you mean CNS or peripheral nerves?
For CNS in Italy I use propentofylline or a supplement called NEUROGEN (EPA, DHA, choline and uridine, vit E, resveratrol) and sometimes lipoic acid. Not sure if they are really helpful, but at least they can't hurt anybody
For Peripheral nerves Vit B12 and lipoic acid.
Hope it helpes
