Chronic stifle MCL

Post by Philippa »

Hi Laurie and Co.,

Any tips for chronic stifle MCL injuries? Just saw a 7yr Border Collie after he had a stifle arthroscopy last week. CCL ligs all fine, mahoosive medial buttress so the only thing the orthopaedic surgeon thinks is that it is an chronic MCL injury causing the buttress. No instability as far as they could tell.

I was thinking laser, radial shockwave and gradual strengthening exercises. He was quite sore over his thigh muscles I'm guessing because he holds his left hindlimb out? Am I on the right track?

Thanks in advance :-)

Philippa.

I agree...
And I'd just add some soft tissue work to the muscles!

Best of luck!
