Amputee Mastiff

Good Morning Laurie,
We recently saw a 6 yoa Mastiff who had his left rear leg amputated about four weeks ago due to osteosarcoma. He came to us for a rehabilitation assessment because he is sinking in the hindend when standing.
Orthopedic examination revealed he has pain on right hip extension with a positive ortolani, a partial CrCL tear in his right rear leg with bilateral elbow dyspepsia (non painful at this time). We have talked to the owner about ESWT on the hip and working on building up his muscles and core strength.
Our concern is the partial tear in CrCL in his rear leg taking most of his weight at this time. So we talked to the owner about a stifle brace however we do not do too many of them so are not up to date on which braces would be appropriate for this patient. If you could give us some input or your option regarding braces we would appropriate it.
Thank you again for your time in this matter and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
CS
