bilateral tplo
Re: bilateral tplo
HEY!
Okay, so the bilaterals should have / use a harness for moving from point A to point B. It's really hard on the owners for the first 2 weeks, as the dog really can't move well on their own at all. I would get them in the UWT (HIGH water) as soon as the incisions are healed / appx 2 weeks. They have the potential to do more damage on land because they really don't have a good leg to stand on! At least in the water, they have some buoyancy! In the long run, they often do even better than the 'staged' TPLOs. But owners may want to use up at least 1 week of their vacation time to stay at home with their dog right away after surgery.
I hope this helps...
Cheers,
Laurie
