I have a client teacup poodle weighing in at three and a half pounds, almost 2 weeks after bilateral patella surgery.
She wants to constantly stand on her hind legs in her little x-pen and to be picked up. My thoughts are this should be ok as long as she is not repetitively jumping as she is doing this. What do people think?

Re: post bilateral patella surgery
Hey Sil!
I'm thinking that 'technically' there should be less strain / pull on the tibial tuberosity in this position than there would be to get into sitting, or the counter movement required to jump.
But, while it does make me think... 'oh don't do that!' as my initial reaction, I am thinking like you, that it should be okay...

I agree with Laurie - this is kind of like Loving on the Stairs/Couch which I do introduce at 2 weeks post-op.
The fact that she CAN do it is great.
Jumping up and down or up onto a couch however is a big NO NO as well as NO stairs yet and of course NO OFF LEASH outside, NO running .....
