Re: Gastroc Disease
Help please Laurie, So Zen has been doing really well, totally sound, performing well in agility (just got AgCh and dog of the year ). Yesterday I thought she looked a bit off but couldn't localise and gastroc was fine. Today, 4/5 lame after she got up tonight :( Pain on gastroc palp again. Aaargh. ...

Re: Gastroc Disease
Thanks for the reply Laurie, I know how busy you are and I appreciate it. Interestingly, she was looking a bit better, so I did some agility ground work stuff with her and she pulled up lame again, and as well as being painful on gastroc palp she was also sore on hamstring palp as well :( Not really...

Re: Two differing opinions for puppy
Thought I'd give an update here for anyone reading and interested.
Nothing wrong with dog, she sits straight most of the time now, and has muscled up nicely. Total pocket rocket in agility, too!

Gastroc Disease
Hi Laurie, Help again needed with my own dogs please. 5yo agility Border Collie, sore on gastroc palp, off weighting at stance, was 2/5 lame a few weeks ago. Treatment so far: Shock wave on the gastroc and surrounding muscles (had 2 Txs 1 week apart, started 2.5w ago, 2 more booked) Lying on PEMF mat...

Re: Canine Autism
I know Silvia Trkman (world agility competitor), thinks one of her BCs, Bu, has autism. I will try and find the article she wrote on it.

Re: Toes
Thanks. The ortho specialist thinks it is a sesamoid F#. She seems to be getting better slowly. No longer has pain on direct palpation, but still pain on flexion. Its been nearly 6w, so hoping I can start running her again soon. Would be nice to have a laser, but my work is not interested and its lo...

Re: Two differing opinions for puppy
Thank you both. I agree it sounds like overkill , just find it very hard to have perspective with my own dogs. We will practice straight sitting and correct her when she sits sloppily.
I also placed her psoas and pectineus on stretch, and palpated, and didn't get any reaction.

Two differing opinions for puppy
Hi all, Yesterday I took my puppy (BC X, 8kg , 10m) to get an opinion as I was concerned she never sits straight. She tends to tilt her pelvis under, abduct her knees, straighten hocks. She can sit straight when she is cued, but never does on her own. Sometimes she will sit with one knee tucked unde...

Re: Toes
Can you please let me know what settings you are using on your PEMF mat- I looked up the modalities article but couldn't make sense of it.
Also, are you still recommending E-stim for F#?
Thanks!

Re: Toes
Thanks guys. I xrayed it last week and yes, it is fractured. Chip fracture of the distal aspect of P1. She is not lame walking and I am trying to keep it at that..will hold it up if she gets faster. I am hoping 6w will do it, but will give her longer if needed. What is the likelihood of this causing...
