Multiple issue case
Hi Laurie, Saw an odd case the other day, whole RHS of the dog less well muscled and sore pretty much everywhere. Was suspicious of her back so I sent her for CT. I will attach the results. What would you do with her? Its a bit beyond my comfort level but O really wants me to see her. No modalities ...

Re: Gastroc Disease
Hi David,
Thanks for your input. Yes twitch response as well as bent needles when they come out. I will pass on your suggestion I think she might be improving a little, but there is still quite a big difference when doing exercises such as motor control and timing with RH standing

Re: Gastroc Disease
Thanks. She had an MRI yesterday and they did from her thoracic spine all the way down to her gastrocs and everything in between. They found absolutely nothing at all bar a slightly enlarged L popliteal LN! Spine and all muscles look totally clean. So good news, but not giving me any help. She went ...

Re: Gastroc Disease
Hi again Laurie and David, I hope you are both well. Once again can I please have your thoughts about my troublesome dog! Latest update: Pulled up not right/running much slower at the last 2 trials of the year (around 2m ago). Once again seemed to be painful in R gastroc and also hamstrings. Not lam...

Re: Reluctance to extend shoulder in sidelying only
Thanks for the reply. I have been shockwaving her biceps and medial shoulder and have her in a shoulder rehab program and she seems happier to let me extend it lying down

Reluctance to extend shoulder in sidelying only
Hi Laurie, This is about my young dog(2yo FS BCx 8kg). She consistently does not allow me to extend her R shoulder but only when she is lying flat in lateral recumbency. In standing/sitting she is fine, she is also happy to stretch it actively through a deep playbow. Have checked all the usual candi...

Re: Bilateral 1st rib pain
Thanks for your thorough reply Laurie. I was thinking might need to recheck neck as I examined it more like a vet. Have you seen MSS in a non athlete? This is a pet dog who doesn't do much. I didn't check for hypermobility, just biceps and supraspinatus, that she was very comfy on. Have started her ...

Bilateral 1st rib pain
Hi Laurie, Hope you are well. Hoping for thoughts on the below case: 7yo Finnish Lapphund. Intermittently lame on one of the front legs, O not sure which or if the same front leg, over the last few months. Often worse on getting up but not always and can come on at any time. Xrayed both front legs a...

Re: Gastroc Disease
Thanks for the reply, David.
I will book her in for an u/s. Her knee feels absolutely normal.
Interestingly, one of my agility friends had a flare up of her dogs gastroc disease as well, similar sort of time frame.

Re: Gastroc Disease
Thanks. She pulled up lame at night but was just off the last few days. Routinely chases the horses, unfortunately. Can’t find anything else at all. Will take her to the chiro again but it’s definitely her gastrocnemius she is reacting too on palpation.
