Re: post-MSI / velpeau sling
Update: Bear's carpal extension has improved by 10 degrees. His elbow extension has improved by 5 degrees. He can toe touch, but he still can't get his paw pads to the floor, so he can't weight bear. He is doing well in the underwater treadmill. He reaches with the affected limb about 80% of the tim...

Re: post-MSI / velpeau sling
Thank you for your suggestions, Laurie.
I had him crawl under last week. I tried figure 8s, but he did them three-legged. I will try some of the other suggestions and let you know how he does.
Thank you,
Lisa

I had talked to the owner about retrieves to practice sprinting, but I don't think that was possible for them (I don't remember why). I like your idea of inte...

Explaining value to clients
Recently, my underwater treadmill was out-of-order for about two weeks. My business came to a screeching halt while awaiting repairs. I have all the usual modalities, FitPaws equipment, and a medium size DogTread treadmill. I could have come up with workouts that would have challenged my patients, b...

Conditioning for lure coursing
My practice is mostly injured dogs - IVDD, DM, and CCL make up the vast majority of the patients I see. I recently saw a healthy grey hound who competes in lure coursing. Owner came to me because he was interested in underwater treadmill for cross training. He is also interested in any other type of...
