Re: possible sciatic nerve branch damage and contracture post TPLO in rescue dog
Honestly, from the beginning I have felt I was primarily dealing with contracture. He does curl his toes at both the proximal and distal joints. I do not have any history - just the assumption that the rescue did not follow up with the dog after surgery and he was put in a crate or run or something ...

possible sciatic nerve branch damage and contracture post TPLO in rescue dog
So, another strange case. Almost 9yo MN Husky just rescued by a sweet woman mid October. He had a TPLO done on his RH early September/Late August at the rescue prior to being adopted. When his new mom brought him to me he was already in pretty rough shape. "Beginning of muscle contracture with sever...

Help with joint injection protocols
I am a DVM, CCRT, cVMA in Colorado Springs who is currently in the process of helping a general practice open a new rehab and surgery offshoot. It means so much just to know that I am not missing something big and obvious and I feel better now that I kept thinking about fibrotic myopathy in the back of my mind but since I have never actually had a...

Stuck on a case -
I am seeing an 11 year old male neutered lab and we are not getting results with current treatment. He is weak in the rear and has muscle atrophy + a compensatory pain pattern in the front - so far it sounds pretty typical, right? He was diagnosed by another vet with lumbar IVDD and lumbo-sacral spo...

Carpal Flexor Contraction secondary to diskospondylitis C3-T1
So I have a client with a 6 year old spayed female mixed breed dog. She weighs about 40 pounds. She presented to me for evaluation after being treated for 2 months with antibiotics for diskospondylitis in the C3-T1 region. According to the owner she has improved some on antibiotic therapy and is als...
