Re: Grade 4 Medially luxated patella
Hi Wendy! Great question AND good case for discussion. I like that you are approaching this case with practicality. I've had a case like this just a couple of years ago. That little one did well with pool (swimming) as and exercise, and she's come to me for laser therapy and some stretching, myofasc...

Re: extensor rigidity and dysphasia in a dog diagnosed with cervical disc disease.
Hey Juli, My apologies for not getting to this until now. (October has been chaos!) So, this little Winston... Oh my!!! I was going to say, look higher (i.e. C1), but he doesn't quite look like the other atlanto-occipital instability dogs I've seen. That being said, he does sort of look like the pos...

Re: Paintrace
Please do!
I have also put out an email to a physio that did a whole presentation on it! If she responds with information, I'll keep you posted as well!
Cheers,
Laurie

Re: Paintrace
Hi Steve, I have heard of it... but I missed the window of opportunity to test it back when it first came out. That is a bit steep of a price... However, if you are looking to validate the use of a pharmaceutical, prove your interventions, or convince an owner that a dog legitimately has pain, then ...

Re: Tight hamstrings
Honestly, I'm not going to claim any sort of ability to read or interpret imaging.
Everything you describe (signs/ symptoms) make me think LSDD.
I'm not sure how to fit IBD or loose stools into the picture however...

Re: Tight hamstrings
She is briefly hesitating before each jump on the vid, plus lots of short little strides rather than longer ones, and v slow. Here is an earlier vid to compare https://youtu.be/bjH3GCTK-hU I guess dynamic L-S disease is an option as I suspect her MRI was just done in neutral. Do you not feel that th...

Re: Tight hamstrings
Well dang! I have to say that I couldn't really ascertain the issues with jumping based on the video. I tried to zoom in - but then it was grainy. I tried to slow it down... but couldn't do that when I was zoomed in. All I could presume to be seeing was a bit of a roundedness in the lumbar spine - b...

Re: Setting up treadmill conditioning programs
Hi Julie, Okay… so, I’m going to firstly direct you to the FourLeg Training Videos 201 & 202 – these are my parts 1 & 2 of Conditioning the Canine Athlete. It’s a good place to start. Now, beyond that I’d say to think about, What is the baseline? What is the goal? These dogs aren’t needing the tread...
