Slowest land treadmill

Does anyone know which brand of land treadmill will go the slowest? I’ve got a post op hemilaminectomy doxie who looks good doing assisted walking at 0.3mph in our UWT with just enough water to make the belt run. I’d like to switch him to a land treadmill but can’t find one that goes slower than 0.5...

Hindlimb kicking chronic cases.

Hi all, I've got two cases of chronic myelopathy dogs that have started occasionally kicking with one of their hind legs. The first one is an 9yr old German Shepherd with Degenerative Myelopathy. He is over a year out from diagnosis and gets regular acupuncture, laser and formal rehab. His hindlimb ...

Chronic tendon injury L greater trochanter

Hi, I saw a 2 1/2 year old spayed female border collie for a hopping gait with her left hind. Owner reports that she has seen her hop occasionally for the past year. The hopping increased in frequency after the dog slipped coming out of a tunnel about 6 weeks ago--that's when she presented to me for...

Hopping gait since puppyhood. now post TPLO

Hi everyone, I saw this dog last week. His history is that he has had this gait since he was 4 months old, he is 3 years old now. Last year, the owner began doing agility with him and decided to have the limb looked at. She was expecting a luxating patella diagnosis, but instead he had a torn CCL an...

Re: Spinal manipulations

I try to work on my patients (Mobs and acupuncture) the Wednesday or Thursday before a weekend trial, but I don't usually restrict their activity afterward. I have done some on the Friday before a trial without issue--all regular patients that don't have any major dysfunctions. I've never worked on ...

Re: Tarsal arthrodesis, hopping gait

Thanks guys!
I see her every few weeks for dry needling and mobilizations, so I will be sure to carefully go over her hip/low back pelvis again.
She doesn’t do the hop when she’s not on the land treadmill, so I’m really hoping it’s related to the speed they had the treadmill at.

Tarsal arthrodesis, hopping gait

I’ve been working with a 3yr old spayed female border collie who had a partial tarsal arthrodesis six months ago. Owners would like to return her to flyball. So far, she has been doing recalls over low jumps, no work on the box yet. She had been doing great until recently when her owners were workin...

Re: L hindlimb lameness

Update on this case: I saw the dog again, made sure she was standing square and carefully looked at the pelvis again. Sure enough, now I think the left side is cranially slipped and a wee bit dorsally rotated. So, I mobilized both SI joints, her lumbar spine, showed owner how to do tail pulls at hom...

Re: L hindlimb lameness

Thanks!
I am going to see the dog again on Thursday, so I will do some of the mobilizations that I learned from you in San Diego this year.
Hmm, wish I could go to Norway for the advanced class!
